“At Last” (1960) gave Etta James one of her defining moments. Originally written for Glenn Miller’s 1941 film *Sun Valley Serenade*, James’s soulful 1960 version turned it into a wedding and jazz standard. Her rich, emotional vocal and the song’s lovely melody won lasting acclaim – it was later inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. Beyoncé even performed “At Last” at Barack Obama’s 2009 inaugural ball, paying tribute to James’s legacy.
