MC Hammer

MC Hammer is an American rapper Stanley Burrell who became the first hip-hop millionaire thanks to the album Please Hammer Dont Hurt Em (1990). The album stayed 21 weeks at #1 on Billboard 200 and sold over 10 million copies in the US. His hit U Cant Touch This sampled Rick James Super Freak and earned him 2 Grammy Awards. Hammer popularized parachute pants and complex dance routines in hip-hop videos. He spent $30 million on a mansion in Fremont, California with 17 cars and 200 employees, but went bankrupt in 1996.
