The group used samples from Devil with a Blue Dress On by Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels and Good Golly Miss Molly by Little Richard. Ryder had 4 Top 40 hits between 1966-1967, including Jenny Take a Ride! and Sock It to Me, Baby!. The group became the first rock group to perform on Ed Sullivan Show in 1966. Their influence is felt in the work of MC5, The Stooges and Bob Seger.
