Modest Mouse is an American indie-rock group who created the hit Float On (2004). The song reached #120 on Billboard Hot 100 and went platinum, selling over 1 million copies. The group used samples from Float On by Modest Mouse and Ocean Breathes Salty by Modest Mouse. Modest Mouse has 3 Top 40 hits between 2004-2007, including Dashboard and Weve Got Everything. The group became the first indie-rock group to perform on Saturday Night Live in 2004. Their influence is felt in the work of Death Cab for Cutie, The Shins and Arcade Fire.
