Owl City

Owl City is an American electronic pop project by Adam Young who created the hit Fireflies (2009). The song reached #1 on Billboard Hot 100 and UK Singles Chart, selling over 5 million copies in the US. Young recorded music in his parents basement in Minnesota and suffered from insomnia, which inspired his nighttime creativity. Fireflies had whimsical lyrics and dreamy electronic production, which became Owl Citys signature sound. The song received 2x platinum certification and was featured in Toyota and Dell commercials. Adam also recorded official soundtrack for the film Legend of the Guardians (2010). His influence is felt in the work of LMFAO, Hot Chelle Rae and Passion Pit.
