Paul & Mary

Paul & Mary is an American folk duo who were part of Peter, Paul and Mary trio until 1970. After the trio disbanded, Paul Stookey and Mary Travers recorded several albums as a duo between 1970-1975. They created the hit The Wedding Song (There Is Love) (1971), which became a popular wedding standard in the US. The duo used traditional folk harmonies and acoustic guitar arrangements. Paul & Mary had 2 Top 40 hits on Billboard Hot 100 between 1971-1973. They reunited with Peter Yarrow in 1978 and continued touring as Peter, Paul and Mary until Marys death in 2009. Their influence is felt in the work of Simon & Garfunkel, The Mamas & The Papas and Crosby, Stills & Nash.
