Paul Simon is an American singer-songwriter who created the solo hit 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover (1975). The song reached #1 on Billboard Hot 100 and became his biggest solo success after Simon & Garfunkel disbanded. Simon has 16 Grammy Awards and sold over 100 million records as solo artist and with Garfunkel. He experimented with world music on the album Graceland (1986), recorded in South Africa during apartheid. Paul was inducted into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice - with Simon & Garfunkel (1990) and solo (2001). He wrote Broadway musical The Capeman (1998) and received Kennedy Center Honors in 2002. His influence is felt in the work of James Taylor, Sting and Ben Folds.
