Pearl Jam

Pearl Jam is an American grunge group from Seattle who created the hit Alive (1991). The song reached #16 on Mainstream Rock chart and became the groups breakthrough hit. Pearl Jam sold over 85 million records worldwide and had 5 #1 albums on Billboard 200. The group was the center of grunge movement in the 1990s along with Nirvana, Soundgarden and Alice in Chains. Eddie Vedder (vocalist) is known for his passionate live performances and political activism. Pearl Jam boycotted Ticketmaster in 1994 over high service fees, leading to Department of Justice investigation. Their influence is felt in the work of Bush, Stone Temple Pilots and Creed.
