Peter Gabriel is a British progressive rock musician, former Genesis frontman, who created the solo hit Sledgehammer (1986). The song reached #1 on Billboard Hot 100 and became his biggest commercial success. Gabriel used innovative stop-motion animation in the music video, which won 10 MTV Video Music Awards. He has 6 Grammy Awards and sold over 25 million solo albums. Peter co-founded WOMAD (World of Music, Arts and Dance) festival in 1982 to promote world music. He also co-founded Real World Records label and Real World Studios. His song In Your Eyes was featured in the film Say Anything (1989). His influence is felt in the work of Radiohead, Coldplay and Arcade Fire.
