Rob Base & DJ E-Z Rock is an American hip-hop duo who created the hit It Takes Two (1988). The song reached #34 on Billboard Hot 100 and #3 on R&B chart, becoming their signature song. The duo used sample-heavy production with Lyn Collins Think (About It) and James Brown Funky President. The track had distinctive woo yeah hook and became anthem for hip-hop parties. It Takes Two was featured in films House Party and Step Up and became popular on dance floors. Rob Base had distinctive voice and DJ E-Z Rock added scratching effects. Their influence is felt in the work of Naughty by Nature, House of Pain and Cypress Hill.
