Run-DMC & Aerosmith is an American hip-hop/rock collaboration who created the hit Walk This Way (1986). The song reached #4 on Billboard Hot 100 and became breakthrough crossover between hip-hop and rock music. Run-DMC used samples from Aerosmiths original Walk This Way (1975) and added hip-hop beats and rap verses. The track was produced by Rick Rubin and featured Steven Tyler and Joe Perry from Aerosmith. Walk This Way became anthem for rap-rock fusion and opened doors for future collaborations. Music video showed both groups performing together, which was revolutionary for 1986. Their influence is felt in the work of Beastie Boys, Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit.
