Skrillex, born Sonny John Moore in 1988, is a transformative figure in electronic music. Beginning his career as the lead vocalist for the post-hardcore band From First to Last, he transitioned to electronic music in the late 2000s. His 2010 EP "Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites" introduced a fresh, aggressive dubstep sound that captivated audiences and critics alike, earning him multiple Grammy Awards. Over the years, Skrillex has collaborated with a diverse range of artists, including Diplo, Justin Bieber, and Fred Again.., showcasing his versatility across genres. In 2023, he released two albums, "Quest for Fire" and "Don't Get Too Close," further solidifying his position in the music industry. His 2025 surprise album, "Fuck U Skrillex You Think Ur Andy Warhol but Ur Not!! <3," marked his departure from Atlantic Records, emphasizing his commitment to artistic independence. Fun fact: Skrillex founded the record label OWSLA in 2011, which has been instrumental in promoting emerging electronic artists.
