Light My Fire

Rock Psychedelic Rock
The Doors’ 1967 breakthrough hit “Light My Fire” is a smoldering mix of rock and psychedelia. Written by guitarist Robby Krieger, it features Jim Morrison’s sultry vocals and extended organ and guitar solos that stretch out in the album version. A shorter edit became a No. 1 single. “Light My Fire” not only epitomized the Summer of Love’s sound but also became infamous when The Doors performed it on The Ed Sullivan Show and defied censorship, sealing their image as rock rebels.
