Glen Campbell’s 1968 hit “Wichita Lineman” is a poignant portrait of a telephone line worker’s lonely devotion. Songwriter Jimmy Webb penned the aching line “I need you more than want you…” and Campbell delivered it with heartfelt simplicity.
