Chocolate City

'Chocolate City' (1975) is the title track of Parliament's funk concept album. The song's lyrics celebrate African-American culture by referring to Washington D.C. (and, by extension, any black-majority city) as a 'Chocolate City.' Over a groovy, danceable funk beat, George Clinton and crew list city names and boast about black achievements, mixing politics with humor.
