November Rain

Guns N’ Roses delivered a rock epic with 1992’s “November Rain,” complete with sweeping orchestration and some of Slash’s most iconic guitar solos. At nearly 9 minutes long, this powerful ballad (and its extravagant music video featuring a dramatic wedding and funeral scenario) was a bold statement in the MTV era. “November Rain” became the longest song to ever hit the Billboard top 10 and later the first ’90s video to reach a billion YouTube views. Its grandiose arrangement and emotional weight — capped by Axl Rose’s soaring vocals and piano — have cemented it as one of the defining power ballads of all time.
