Roy Orbison

Roy Orbison is an American rock n roll singer who created the hit Oh, Pretty Woman (1964). The song reached #1 on Billboard Hot 100 and UK Singles Chart, becoming their signature song. Orbison had distinctive operatic voice and emotional delivery, which became their trademark sound. He had 3 #1 hits on Billboard Hot 100 between 1960-1964, including Running Scared and Crying. Oh, Pretty Woman was inspired by Orbisons wife Claudette and became anthem for beauty and attraction. Roy died from heart attack in 1988 at age 52. He was inducted into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987. His influence is felt in the work of Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne.
