Dion’s “The Wanderer” (1961) was originally the B-side of “Runaround Sue,” but it became another big hit, reaching #2. Dion’s playful delivery lists all the girls in town and declares himself a “lover.” It’s a romp of a song that cemented Dion’s status as a top rock ’n’ roll teen idol. (A later hit cover was done by Leif Garrett in 1978.)
